My Background

I am a Chartered Accountant and university lecturer in Finance. With several years of experience in international accounting and consulting firms, including a Big Four firm, I have worked closely with Finance and Risk teams at major banking institutions in France, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In 2024, I completed my Chartered Accountancy thesis, focusing on managing and securing the regulatory requirements applicable to the French branch of a UK bank established in Paris following Brexit. The thesis was awarded a grade of 16/20, with highest honours.

These experiences have enabled me to develop expertise in European banking prudential regulation. Through my consulting practice, I advise banks and financial institutions on prudential and regulatory matters, supporting them in navigating their regulatory requirements and obligations.

Specialist, Banking Regulation

I launched this blog in response to several key observations made throughout my professional experience:

  • Prudential regulation remains highly specialised and largely unfamiliar to the general public.
  • Regulatory requirements have expanded significantly since the 2008 financial crisis.
  • Banking regulation increasingly interacts with economics, technology and financial markets.

Against this backdrop, this blog pursues four main objectives:

  • Make complex banking topics more accessible to a broader audience.
  • Explore key regulatory and prudential issues affecting the banking industry.
  • Connect regulatory changes with their practical implications for banks and financial institutions.
  • Share perspectives and research on the forces shaping the future of banking.
